Employment Eligibility

Since 2017, immigration enforcement has increased. This enforcement does not only target individual immigrants. Companies have seen an increase in worksite investigations and enforcement as well. To add complexity, HR Managers and business owners must balance privacy and anti-discrimination issues with their businesses' employee needs.

For that reason, you NEED this program. After this seminar, you will:

  • Have a better understanding of the types of visas and legal statuses that exist in the US;
  • Have a stronger understanding of completing and modifying I-9 forms; and,
  • Have a set of best practices for when problems such as SSA no-match letters and investigation requests arise.

Our Speaker

Gabriela Vega focuses her practice on family law and immigration law at Addair Thurston Chtd.

Her desire to become an attorney arose out of her family's experience immigrating to the United States. From the age of ten, as she served as her parents' translator and only advocate, she realized the importance of having the right advocate. Gabriela completed her high school education at Holcomb High School in Holcomb, Kansas. She knew at that early age that her calling was the law. She completed her undergraduate education at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas in 2001 and received her Juris Doctorate from the Washburn School of Law in 2003.
